SALVATION

We believe that salvation is the free gift of God brought to us by His grace and received by personal faith in Christ alone (John 3:16Ephesians 2:8-9).Christ died as a sinless substitute for the forgiveness of sins, rising again from the dead for people of all ages and times (1 Peter 1:17-211 Corinthians 15:1-4Ephesians 1:7).Salvation is apart from any sacraments, good works, or human merit (Romans 3:20Ephesians 2:8-9). All who receive this salvation are freed from the ultimate result of sin and are spiritually born into permanent membership in the family of God (2 Corinthians 5:17Romans 8:38-39).

JUSTIFICATION

We believe that those who have trusted Christ for salvation are justified by faith alone, in that they are no longer judged for their sins (Romans 5:1-2), since Christ stands in the sinner’s place (Romans 4:25).  They no longer have to receive the punishment of spiritual death, which is eternal separation from God (Romans 3:1-26).

SANCTIFICATION

We believe that those who have trusted Christ for salvation are sanctified (1 Thessalonians 4:3-4), in that through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit (Romans 15:16), they are being renewed in their minds and hearts and are transformed into the likeness of Christ (1 John 3:2).  This is the promise of God for the believer’s life and it will be accomplished (1 Corinthians 6:11).

GLORIFICATION

We believe that those who have trusted Christ for salvation are glorified, in that even though they experience the death of their mortal bodies, they will stand before God, and they will be complete (Romans 8:30).  The work of salvation will have been accomplished, and their likeness will perfectly mirror that of Christ (1 John 3:2).  Believers will then be in perfect harmony with God and will enjoy his presence for eternity (Revelation 21:1-4).

ASSURANCE

We believe that those who have trusted Christ for salvation can be assured that this gift, and work of God, cannot be interrupted by anyone or anything (Romans 8:38-39).  Those who believe are brought into the family of God (John 10:27-29).  Their lives are transferred from darkness to light, from the flesh of the world to God’s kingdom (Colossians 1:13).  The inheritance promised to those who believe is guaranteed and evidenced by the Holy Spirit that indwells each believer (Ephesians 1:14).
